This urban garden is set in an asymmetric plot, on a steep slope dropping dramatically to the rear. The design brings what had been an unusable, overgrown space into a contemporary terrace and garden room. This is achieved through rationalising the driveway to create a parking solution and by providing for a staircase which leads to the lower level, where you are met with a full height fireplace and lounge, with an outdoor kitchen space beyond. Repetition of the planting scheme harmonises the spaces. The fullness of the scheme provides privacy.
The scalloped cobble features on the driveway. A warm toned composite timber is used on the lower decking, providing a lower maintenance option, whilst also complementing the accents of corten steel throughout the design.
