Located along the Atlantic coastline of Kenmare, this impressive split-level dwelling is a sight to be seen.

The project intent was to frame the coastal view from the dwelling to Kenmare town and provide worthwhile living experiences at different vantage points within the landscape to take in the stunning surroundings. 

The design boasts a contemporary living space enclosed to its rear by a split level galvanised steel waterfall and a striking modern fireplace which has a bespoke marine themed laser cut mural mounted to its face.

The dining area provides a stage for panoramic views to the coastline, an idyllic backdrop for family gatherings. A cast in situ angular concrete staircase connects the top level with the lower level; it is supported by a living retaining wall.

To top it all off, all existing trees on the site have been retained with an additional 220 trees provided for, 80% of which are native species. 817 square metres of additional mixed tree, shrub, perennial and ornamental grass planting spread out across the site! All planting specimens have been chosen for their coastal hardiness and aesthetic qualities.
