The design intent for this project was to zone a family garden. Spaces have been created for cooking, play and evenings together around the fire pit. The design gives structure and drama to the outdoor space, creating rooms within rooms. The structures are given careful attention to detail. The pergola boosts a stylised pattern, the slats set the contemporary style that features through the design. A feature tree interacts with the pergola through a voided section, creating a canopy sitting above the timber. The curvature of the sunken fire pit is repeated along the length of the garden. The planting combines a mixture of soft woodland plants with classical hydrangeas and block planted box hedges. The natural and built elements interact harmoniously.
